Xanthophryne tigerina
The Critically Endangered 'Amboli Toad' (Xanthophryne tigerina) is endemic to the Western Ghats of India. This rare frog is facing rapid habitat loss and climate change too is posing a great threat to the survival of this species.
These are terrestrial species found near disturbed evergreen forest patches. They lay eggs in temporary ponds within small cavities of laterite rocks.
