Golden-mantled ground squirrel

Callospermophilus lateralis

Description:

Golden-mantled ground squirrel. I found it at the very top of Mt. Washburn with 10,243 feet (3,122 m). It must be cold resistant because at that altitude it gets cold very often.

Habitat:

Rocky ground in a pine forest.
