Did you find it during the day or night? The few I have seen only come out at night. They go back into hiding during the day.

Thanks for the identification, Goody! What an amazing little critter this spider was. I had no idea it can spit a poisonous sticky substance. I guess that's where it get its name from. In the fourth photo, if you look closely, it appears that might have attempted to spit some of its sticky substance. Pretty cool :)

Excellent spotting, Peter. I truly enjoy the spitting spiders and it's great to see this species on PN. There are no entries on BugGuide for Ontario, so you should submit yours there and be the first Canadian entry for the species. :-)
