Swamp darner females copulate then leave the male to find a suitable place to oviposit. The three females in the third photo all liked the same log and all placed thier eggs there at the same time.

I suggest you re-order the photos: make No. 3 the new No. 1; leave the other two photos in the current order. That way you highlight the rare sighting of three ovipositing females of the same species in the same location. Great spotting, Matt!
