A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Thamnophis sirtalis
Woodland habitat bordering Hennepin Canal and West Bureau Creek.
It was a pretty brisk day and I found this little beauty basking on the canal path while bike riding. It got a bit nervous as I laid on my chest next to it, but it stayed put and remained as I took off down the path. This one seemed to be patterned a bit differently than I am used to with common garter snakes.
