Nine-banded Armadillo

Dasypus novencinctus

Description:

Came across my youngsters from 2009 and decided to share a few more pictures. Greyish animal with a hard back and tail covering, perky ears and an undying interest of probing for insects

Habitat:

At that time their den was under a front low wall a short distance from the front of our house. As long as you didn't make a loud noise, they were content to nose all around the yard.

Nice animals but don't handle them. They are carriers of disease.

You are right Melissa, 4th is best! Thank You.
