Ardea herodias
I spotted these three Great blue heron chicks while I was walking around Stow Lake in Golden Gate Park. Great blue herons have been nesting at Stow Lake in cypress trees since 1993. The San Francisco Nature Education (SFNE) has been monitoring the the nests for 21 years and over 149 chicks have learned to fly at the lake.

Thank you Mark. I saw an adult great blue heron on the lake and suspect the chick were looking down at it.
What a great pic ! They look so serious (but amusing).
