Description:

Aromatic annual or biennial to 3 ft. Flowers pink to pale purple, often purple spotted. Leaves simple, opposite; blade lanceolate or oblong. Margins toothed to nearly entire. Square stems.

Habitat:

Bare, open sunny area.

Notes:

Lemon beebalm can be used in salads and teas and as a flavoring in desserts. The volatile oil, citronella, is used in perfumes and insect repellent.
