Description:

A very common species in Maldives. Schooling plankton feeder with very distinctive coloration and readily recognised by the broad white and black pattern on the body and head. Often feeds near the surface in large numbers, ranging to a depth of about 30 m. Restricted to western Indian Ocean. Lenght to 18 cm.
