Linckia laevigata
About 30cm in diameter, tubular-elongated arms with rounded tips.
Spotted at Pulu Cinta, a sandy atoll reef at Sulawesi, Indonesia it's found in shallow waters of tropical Indo-Pacific region. An inhabitant of coral reefs and sea grass beds.
The genus Linckia is recognized by scientists as being possessed of remarkable regenerative capabilities and may be able to reproduce asexually. Kingdom: Animalia Phylum: Echinodermata Class: Asteroidea Order: Valvatida Family: Ophidiasteridae Genus: Linckia Species: L. laevigata
