Hi Gretchen & welcome to Project Noah!
This isn't a brown recluse but a wolf spider of some species - it could even be the Carolina wolf spider (Hogna Carolinensis) but I don't know if they occur so far south & I don't have a resource for Mexican spiders. The Brown recluse is a much more delicate looking spider & can be identified by the violin shape on its cephalothorax.
