It was a beautiful snake, but the time I saw it was dead.

This photo was took by me,last year when I had a simple nokia phone. This snake was inside my friends home and his father killed that snake.My Friend told that this came to his house just because rats.

I don't remember much but the snake was small........about 50 to 60cm

It was difficult for me to find a website with good photos of snakes of India. Here are a couple of things I found that might be useful for trying to ID the snake.
If there is any other info you can give us about the snake (like color and pattern) it might help too.
