A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
At 4:30 a.m. in the morning, I went into the garage, to take the garbage out. While I was taking the garbage out, I spotted a black spider, that was resting on a wall, to the right of the garage door. This spider, was about one half of an inch long. The color of this spider, is black. This spider, also had some white color, on its cephalothorax. About six inches above this spider, was its silken nest. I shined my flashlight on this spider, and it went inside its silken nest, to hide. All around this silken nest, and all around this wall, there was a lot of expired insects, that was the prey of this spider. Phylum: Arthropoda Class: Arachnida. Photo no. 5, and photo no. 6. This black spider, is hiding in its silken nest....
Spiders are quite versatile, and they do well in all types of habitat. Spiders do have to find shelter, when the cooler temperatures settle in. Food supply, has a great deal of influence, in the spider habitat. Spiders need to be able to build there webs, and have enough prey coming along, for them to survive.
