Wingspan 3-3/8'' (76-86mm) These pipevine swallowtail mimics fly during spring and summer in moist, open habitats, such as meadows, forest edges, woodlands, canyons, and along rivers. There are up to 3 generations a year.

I'm thinking this is a Red-spotted Purple or some sort of Admiral. Note the lack of swallowtails.
