Ardea alba

Description:

Very large snow white egret (also known as Great Snowy Egret), standing almost 3-1/2 feet tall (1m). Note the green variant around the eyes. The America's sub-species is Ardea alba egretta.

Habitat:

Along the rivers, marshes, swamps throughout the Amazon and beyond.

Notes:

Taken along the shores of the flooded Marinon River, Loreto, Peru.
