Female Ruby-throated Hummingbird

Archilochus Colubris

Description:

A fast-moving hummer ( who often I can hear before I spot them) mostly green with a cream chest, does not have the males red throat. Long slender bill and very rapid wings

Habitat:

This one was just passing through and did not stay past the day, likely continued with his migration. Since they need nectar, they stay until the flowers die in the North and then head South again.

Notes:

She is feeding at my Cleredendron and I was lucky to get the one shot against the roof. The first picture shows the flexibilty of her neck. I think this is the first time I have gotten a picture when they were not sitting.
