Spotted Camel Cricket

Ceuthophilus maculatus

Description:

A spotted camel cricket in my basement. Despite its fearsome appearance they are harmless to humans. Some people call them sprickets or spider crickets. I think they're interesting looking. While they are harmless I've found they do jump at your face which can be unsettling to some with bug phobias as they are pretty large.

Habitat:

Native to most parts of North America.
