Common Yellow Robber Fly

Description:

Robber fly with dinner! Robber Flies are air hunters with strong legs. They can catch their prey on flight. They are medium to large size flies with large eyes. Most robber flies have a "beard" of setae around the face, which is believed to serve as protection from damage by their prey.

Habitat:

Spotted in an open field in dry bush

Notes:

Black femur with yellow tibia and black tarsus. Wings are dark brown.
