Saffron milk cap

Lactarius deliciosus

Description:

As for most of my fungi spottings, this is a temptative ID. It seems to be L. deliciosus, in which case it should be edible. It has a reddish orange cap, convex to vase shaped, with darker orange lines in the form of concentric circles. Is interesting how the center catches water, which I assume it may help the fungus to stay hydrated.

Habitat:

Meerdaelbos.
