African hummingbird moth

Macroglossum trochilius

Description:

Hummingbird moth in flight. These moths feed on the wing like hummingbirds and are extremely fast. I wanted to show the moth while feeding. Very difficult to get a nice photo.

Incredible photos. I have seen these on my mimosa tree, but can't seem to get a good focus on them as they move too quick. You did a wonderful job at spotting and photographing this beauty.

In the spotting below a few weeks back, the moth was captured and clearer pictures were taken.
