Hylatomus pileatus
Almost the size of a crow, the Pileated woodpecker is the largest woodpecker in North America. It can grow to about 15.7–19.3 inches with a wingspan of 26–29.5 inches and weigh between 8.8–12.3 ounces. Their most notable features are their size, red crest and loud calls.
A deciduous forest almost completely surrounded by water with many dead trees.
Found north of forbidden drive on the green trail in the Wissahickon trail.
