European spider crab

Description:

Species of migratory crab found in the north-east Atlantic and the Mediterranean Sea. This specimen was decorated in sea grass and algae. About 10 cm carapace wide. 25-30 cm legs spread.

Habitat:

Sea grass bed in the depth about 5-6 meters. Native to Mediterranean Sea and Atlantic Ocean.

Notes:

Other names include spiny spider crab or spinous spider crab. Migrations generally take place in autumn.
