Asian toad

Duttaphrynus melanostictus

Description:

A large-sized toad. Head is broader than length with dark black colored cornified bony ridges also in tips of fingers and toes.Snout is rounded.Fingers and toes are swollen at the tip. Toes less than half-webbed, fourth toe free.Active at night.Dorsal body skin is rough with number of tipped spiny warts,ventral side rough in texture.

Habitat:

Distributed throughout India.Found them in both dry and wet vegetation around paddy fields.

This guy was hopping through my garden searching for its mate with a loud call
