Description:

Adults average 2.8 inches long. The front thoracic side stripe is deeply, notched at a 90-degree angle and has a rear-ward extension off the top. The rear thoracic side stripe is not notched. Male stripes are often green below and blue above but can be all green or all blue; female has green thoracic side stripes. Her abdomen has green top spots with blue side spots..

Habitat:

slow streams and lakes with boggy or marshy edges.

Spotted along the Otter Tail River at the Chippewa Picnic Area on #26.
