Large rabbit. Ears are large to allow them to cool down during the summer months.

Habitat:

Sparse desert area.

Notes:

The picture was taken at the Veteran's Oasis Park in Chandler, AZ. This is a new Riparian Park set up by the city.

We don't have big hares like these guys here in NY. The closest hares are the little Snowshoe Hares and they are mostly upstate and in New England.
