Paropsisterna lignea
A testaceous beetle with stripes along the puncturations of the elytra. There are three dots on the pronotum similar to the larger and nocturnal paropsiterna intacta.
Montane. Found only above the snow line on foliage of snow gums.
Alpine NP Tamboritha Rd.

I finally read the notes by Blackburn that Tony quoted. Leaf beetles are a complex group with little expert support.
So glad you finally have the ID and they are the same :)
These are the same

Yes, I knew what you meant.
I do suspect this is interlita or insignita or similar, based on the three dots on the pronotum but they are not a perfect match either.
I shall check the keys after Christmas, as Tony has already done and I will not make any firm suggestion until I know what I am talking about.
