Description:

As shown...this is a relatively small butterfly, 1.5 to 2 inches in height. Iridescent colors are very brilliant in sunlight.

Habitat:

Hostplant is mistletoe. This photo was taken in Calico Basin, Red Rock Canyon, Nevada. This butterfly seems to thrive in damp riparian areas in the desert.
