White-tailed Deer

Odocoileus virginianus

Description:

Two by two! They don't normally come through the neighborhood. I saw something in the woods behind the neighbor's house and then the procession began. A doe (see last image) was walking ahead of this bunch of bucks...five or six of them I think. The males were very orderly about it, at least until they got to the road. There was a very small amount of scuffling and then they continued through past the houses in the background.

Habitat:

Suburban neighborhood.
