Avocado Tree

Description:

A tall, avocado tree, is growing in my backyard. "The avocado ( Persea americana ), is a tree that is native to South Central Mexico". It is classified as a member of the flowering plant family Lauraceae. Avocado, ( also called alligator pear ), also refers to the tree's fruit, which is botanically a large berry containing a single seed. They have a green-skinned, fleshy body, that may be pear-shaped, egg-shaped, or spherical. Kingdom: Plantae Order: Laurales Family: Lauraceae.

Habitat:

Avocados, are commercially valuable, and are cultivated in tropical and Mediterranean climates, throughout the world. The avocado tree, does not tolerate freezing temperatures, and can be grown only in subtropical or tropical climates. This avocado tree, is growing in my backyard.
