Band-tailed Pigeon

Patagioenas fasciata

Description:

Band-tailed Pigeon. There were about twenty of them on the tall trees. As we got close they moved away and so on. I believe it is because there is a hunting season for them outside the park and they heve learned to avoid people.

Habitat:

Temperate rain forest.

Thanks Joshua. They even live in Mexico but I've never seen one.

I love it! I had these all the time in Southern California, I didn't know they lived that far North.
