Purple cortinar

Cortinarius lavendulensis

Description:

a soft purple bud mushroom with persistent cortina filaments extending to the stipe but leaving almost no ring. A cross section reveals a thick mass of filaments. Gills and stipe are also purple.

I thought C. archeri too, at first (we get them here), but a flip through "A Field Guide to Australian Fungi" led me to lean towards C. lavendulensis. But you saw them, go with your gut.

Your leaning seems to fit the description the best.

I'm leaning towards C. lavendulensis, because of the stout stems with bulbous base.
