Why would you think it is a nile monitor that is green? Just curious as the pattern is not the same. Also, if you don't remember what the signs said underneath the animals, then the LA zoo has a webpage with a reptiles section that lists all the animals they have, feel free to check it out when you are unsure about something. Thanks

This is a very neat lizard. However, this looks like a species of monitor lizard, not a Green Iguana. Here is some info on Green Iguanas so you can compare images: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_iguan...
