Passerella iliaca
The fox sparrow is a large, plump sparrow. Has a rusty rump and tail. Breast heavily streaked with triangular rusty spots, often clustering in a large blotch on upper chest. The fox sparrow looks very similar to the song sparrow.

That's awesome, congrats! I have only seen one, and haven't managed to get photos so I'm jealous of this! It's also weird that it is in a tree, they are usually on the ground. Beautiful birds though!
Thank you again Ashley. I would never have guessed this correctly. Both the fox and song sparrow are so similar. When I first took its picture, did not know it was a sparrow at all because of its larger size. Then, when I saw the dark spot on the chest, just figured it was a song sparrow after looking over Peterson's Guide to Birds. I think this is my first sighting of a fox sparrow so am thrilled. Thank you so much Ashley.
If you check out the link I provided with my suggestion, it points out the differences between song and fox sparrows. You'll notice the face pattern is a little different and the streaking on the breast of the fox sparrow is thicker than on the song sparrow. Pretty similar looking though!
