Hover Fly

Toxomerus sp

Description:

I believe these to be of the syrphid fly family however, I am not 100%, actually I am barely 50%, I was not able to get a good quality shot of their abdomen to get the markings. The colors of their "faces" are quite unique.

Thank you Cindy, I've become pretty adept at identifying the syrphid/hover flies, however, these ones escape my knowledge! Thanks for confirmation I will add a Scientific name Genus sp. to remove it from unidentified category.

Hi Brandon, I agree these are Syrphid flies (Aka Hover flies). Unfortunately I can't narrow it down further.
