Bugs on Ganhia

Description:

Tiny elongated bugs were prolific on the inflorescence of this large sword-grass (Gahnia = Saw-sedge) The small wing buds imply that these are nymphal instars of the bugs.

Notes:

Some bugs, typically with these short antennae never develop wings. I have captured several of these to determine if they ndergo a further molt into a winged adult. Stay tuned.
