A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Remind me of genus Placopsis (Bull's-eye lichens), with basic thallus pale gray with small black apothecia, and the central dark-gray to black mass, without visible apothecia, atop of it (this mass formed of Cyanobacteria??).
Here, observed on a dry rocky-and-grassland escarpment, dominating a large Skradin valley, covering bare calcareous rocks. The rich Skradin valley is close to Krka National Park, park itself enclosing a river forming several waterfalls and lakes, and surrounded by a lush broad leaved forest. However, this escarpment is much more arid, and covered by a vegetation adapted to prolonged arid conditions.
