Mark Ridgway...a 'snag' in my neck of the woods is a dead tree that is still standing.

A good chance it's the same as the old white one next to it. Here 'an old snag' is an unwanted sausage but ours don't get fungi for a very long time... probably due to the preservatives. What is 'an old snag' there?
