Green Cicada

Dundubia vaginata

Description:

A green cicada on my finger. 37mm in length. Green body, transparent wings, creamy brown eyes, red antennae and ocelli.

Habitat:

Trees nearby the hill of Aristo inn, Kundasang, Sabah, Malaysia.

Notes:

This cicada species is easily tamed, it will not fly away instantly after it was caught. After a few days, I found another cicada of the same species and it was equally brave, or it just does not understand the meaning of danger. http://davidwhitmerfieldrecordings.net/i... the call of this cicada species. More information here http://rmbr.nus.edu.sg/nis/bulletin2011/... >>>Map accuracy : 50m radius.
