Araneus sp.
Small, less than half an inch, reddish spider sitting at the tip of a hibiscus leaf. A row of spiny projections around the abdomen. Legs drawn up beside cephalothorax.
This spider is on one of the hardy Hibiscus leaves.
The garden is about half an acre of native plants specifically planted for wildlife. The main water source is a pond that is filtered by two gravel streams. It is on a peninsula by Lake Lewisville, TX.
