Thanks so much! I sent this in to Bug Guide. It is probably either Dolomedes striatus or Pisaurina mira.

This reminds me a lot of the genus Pisaurina. If I had to lay money down on a species, I'd go with P. brevipes. (just my hunch)

Nursery Web Spiders refer to a wide range of spiders, including the Raft Spider.

D. fimbriatus is a European species, but we can't say that anymore due to the Columbian Exchange, HA!

Wrong country. Raft Spider is UK, but does look like it.

It might be a Raft Spider, Dolomedes fimbriatus. So difficult to ID.

Someone mentioned a Nursery Web Spider, but the size is 2 1/2 inches for sure. I just measured the mat in the photo. It was long. Thanks, I did a quick search, it does look like a fishing spider.

These are around my house too. I am thinking they are a type of fishing spider.
