Yellow Fairy Cups

Bisporella citrina

Description:

This fungus is easily overlooked, despite it's vibrant yellow color, because of it's diminutive size. Most of these were 1-2 mm in size, and look like bright yellow dots unless you get a closer look. Fruiting bodies are smooth and cup-shaped with a maximum size of about 3 mm.

Habitat:

Growing on a rotting log in a deciduous forest.
