Thanks for the caution Bernadette S. I implied to use Bugguide as a start to narrow the looking at resources available in the range of the spotting. I need to remember to add that it is a good photo source, but that it is only for USA and Canada. I do not have any reliable reference material on Diptera of Egypt.

Be careful using Bugguide.net to ID species here in Egypt because the site is meant for USA and Canada. It may help to narrow down to genus but may not have the same species we have here.
