Snow Ball Large Mealybug

Description:

A 10mm segmented arthropod densely covered with white bristles.

Habitat:

Spotted on an iron bark eucalyptus tree

Notes:

This female mealybug seemed immobile but she had moved a short distance up the tree when I returned to see her after about 10 minutes. She is probably a very young mealybug who should lose her white bristles as she matures, to reveal a more colourful body.
