I spotted this in Jinshagou Nature Reserve, also known as Chinese Jurassic Park. It was late in the season and most plants had already gone to seed/fruit.

I am not saying this is chinese tallow. Chinese tallow has similar looking seed pods.

Simple opposite leaves, stipule and inferior ovary = Rubiaceae
