Rouen Mallard x Cayuga
spotted in the river cávado,in Prado village 5km from my house.it's a hibrid that i spotted a few time ago,he his the flook leader,you can se in the last photo leading the group,the photo 4 show the guy with a femmale,so i presume that in time will be many hibrids in the zone.i dont saw ducklins ,i expeted to se because is in the rigth time,i have to check it next week

ops :) all males,i have to be more observer like you are,they seem to be all very happy :)
how can i forgot the two similar(99%) hibrids one in portugal the other in california? :) i have intentions to go to my spotting list to check the id you gave then,now with the link is much more easier,i knowed that you would going to like to se them in perfect shape.have you se the one in your spotting recently?

I ID'd this duck as Rouen Mallard x Cayuga hybrid.
If you noticed,this black duck is bigger in size than the other mallards. Rouen mallards are a breed of duck which are bigger in size than the average mallards.
Antonio, all the other ducks including the one in picture 4 are male mallard ducks.
