Description:

Medium sized wasp, black with two yellowish or white bands on the abdomen. Wings are slightly iridescent. This wasp was very busy rooting around in the leaves, perhaps looking for some prey.

Habitat:

Temperate forest, in the leaf litter. Rockwood Park, Virginia.
