Acris sp.

Description:

This is either a southern cricket frog, Acris gryllus, or a northern cricket frog, Acris crepitans. The little frog was photographed (after being caught) at Grand Bay National Wildlife Refuge in March of 2012. They were everywhere! Knowing what I know now, I would've taken a closer look behind the legs and at the webbing on the feet to distinguish between the two. My hunch is southern -- but I'd like to get some feedback before tagging! [jansonjones http://dusttracks.com]
