Golden Whistler

Pachycephala pectoralis

Description:

Medium-sized brown bird with reddish streaks on the wings and yellow streaks in the tail. This is a juvenile.

Habitat:

Our backyard. Found across eastern and southern Australia.

Notes:

I'm not sure whether this is a male or female, but it bears little resemblance to the very distinctive adult male Golden Whistler which is bright yellow with a black head and white throat.
