American GoldFinch

Spinus tristis

Description:

Saw a pair of them. This is the female I think. The Male went to the other side of the tree and was much much brighter and bolder colored.

Notes:

I disturbed them systematically snacking on sunflower seeds picked right off the live sunflowers. The sunflowers were grown from seeds the other birds knocked out of the feeder last season.
