Hypertropha chlaenota

Hypertropha chlaenota

Description:

A small moth about 11mm long looking somewhat like a Tortricid moth. Pink front half with rich dark red/black pattern at the rear end.

Habitat:

Resting on a cement brick wall under night lighting at a local school.

Notes:

Ha! By finding the identity of this moth I have also identified a strange looking cocoon spotted the night before. It's the same. See spotting http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/119... Family: Oecophoridae Genus: Hypertropha Species: H. chlaenota http://bie.ala.org.au/species/Hypertroph...
